Shalva Gvaramadze, Head of Gvaramadze IP Law Firm, participated in the 3rd International Conference of the Eurasian Patent Attorneys Assembly, which brought together leading intellectual property professionals, patent attorneys, and legal experts from across the Eurasian region. The event took place on June 11–13, 2026, in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
During the conference, Mr. Gvaramadze participated in two roundtable discussions on key issues in intellectual property.
The first session, "Challenges of Combating the Sale of Counterfeit Goods on the Internet and Online Marketplaces in the CIS Countries," focused on the growing problem of online counterfeiting. Mr. Gvaramadze shared Georgia's experience with the legal challenges associated with the sale of counterfeit goods on online platforms, including intermediary liability, mechanisms for protecting and enforcing intellectual property rights, and recent legislative initiatives to strengthen IP enforcement.
The second session, "Judicial Expertise in the Field of Intellectual Property: Challenges and Trends," addressed the legal framework governing judicial expertise, expert certification mechanisms, the role of expert opinions in intellectual property disputes, and current developments and emerging trends in this area.
Mr. Gvaramadze's contribution to both discussions was highly appreciated by the conference moderators as well as by the participants, reflecting his extensive practical experience and expertise in intellectual property law.
